The City of Falls Church, "The Little City", is only 2.2 square miles with a population of about 12,332. Settled in 1699 Falls Church did not become an independent city until 1948 when local parents were successful in separating from Fairfax County School system. Falls Church City Public Schools is still a nationally ranked school system.

This urban village offers a year round Saturday Farmers Market and hosts numerous community events throughout the year such as the Memorial Day Festival and Parade, Concerts in the Park, Independence Day Celebration, Fall Festival and Taste of Falls Church and the Holiday Gift and Craft Show.
